Logitech Dual Action Controller Issues, Vista 64 bit.

My wife just purchased a new laptop and I'm trying to get it outfitted for FFXI. I've installed and patched with no problems, but now that I'm at the point where she can get to logging in and playing, for some reason, the controller will not work.

I could have sworn that I had it working the other day after I installed it for the first time, but it's not working now. I downloaded the latest drivers from the logtech site, and I found some information about the problem that had other drivers, but the issue hasn't resolved itself.

Has anyone on here come across the problem at all?
I'm figuring it's something minor that I'm overlooking.

    Thanks for any info.

Start > Program Files > PlayOnline > FINAL FANTASY XI Config > Gamepad Settings

Calibrate/assign buttons there, and note that the checkbox for 'Enable Gamepad' is disabled by default.

Try configureing the USB controller through the FFXI config pad?
