Indeed. I was thinking though... Imagine if later on when they release more information they shock everyone and reveal that they will be making a female Galka and male Mithra. Mithra wouldn't be that hard to imagine (think Raddix from SO1) but... What the fuck would a female Galka look like? lol

I am impressed and eager to see what comes next. I like that they kept the same hairstyles on the Elvaan type (the Legolas clone) and it's close enough so far for me not to feel completely lost.
I think they look more like the models during the character creation graphics in XI that we wanted all this time. I think the taru in XI are winners in cutness though.
I like how this game seems so much more bulky and industrial with the clothing styles. that mage's coat reminds me more of the Royal Redingote. Thanks for the posts!

SE already confirmed that FFXIV will be shown at Gamescom in the middle of this august !
The question is what are they gonna show? it's weird because all the games listed going to be playable and FFXIII/FFVXIII is missing it seems they wanna focus at 14? they say we will see all games listed LIVE

It will be a huge surprise if they show live footage of FFXIV

From the job pictures it seems there are 4 tiers of major classes: Fighter, Soceror, Crafter and Gatherer. Crafter and Gatherer used to be lifeskill classes in FFXI but now they are major classes in FF14.

Representative jobs under the 4 tiers:

Fighter: Swordfighter, Archer
Soceror: Curser, Illusion Maker(Can't translate this well, it's some different mage, e.g.: Summoner, Blue Mage are not traditional mages too)
Crafter: Smither, Cooker
Gatherer: Gardener, Fisherman

FFXIII ingame models looks much better ;( but i guess it's expected because FFXIV is an online game, still looks much better than FFXI though

Well. Apparantly SE's finally shown FFXIII running on real hardware, and so the "ingame" footage they showed us before... isn't.

So really, while they've labelled certain parts of the FFXIV trailer as running in "real time" I completely expect to see a similar drop in render detail when we get closer to the release date. It's like when the PS2 hardware debuted, and they were running FFVIII's dance scene "in real time!"

Also: I want to see male mithras too. Perhaps this is something that SE will save as a surprise for later (because its the kind of silly little things fans will get very excited about), but who knows.

Connery elf model is in the blm gear with the hat and stave. If you look close you can see the short trimmed beard.
