Anniversary or not, they're removing the 40-man.

This poses a problem, in that they're possibly erasing the tier 2 helm from the game, among some other loot.

I see it as a hint that they may eventually re-do BWL and possibly MC (legs, rag) the same way, or remove the tier drops from those raids, in order to keep consistency.

Can't have a set with 7 pieces obtainable.

This says nothing about removing the 40-man. We have an entire zone dedicated to the aspects of the dragons, it's conceivable it'll be accessible from there while leaving the 40man door in Dustwallow Marsh completely intact.

I think this is great, it's a minor patch and adding something like this is really nice. Especially as an anniversary thing. I can't wait to see how they tune it, I'm sure it'll be rediculously easy since they are going to want newplayers/casuals to all see the 40man boss, but maybe they will add a good hardmode to it.

Plus, that mount would look sick lol.

I'm in the group that's excited for this change! :D I started after WotLK, shortly before 3.1, and so the current Onyxia was not an alternative for me at 60 and not exactly thrilling at 80... I think it will be awesome to get a taste of what she was like back in yonder vanilla days! :D

Good catch, I missed that part. Definitely more likely then, maybe the dungeon will auto-upgrade for pre/post L60 characters?

long term I don't mind them 'resurrecting' old content like this as long as they don't put BiS gear in them. Nobody seriously wants to put Onyxia/MC/BWL back on their raiding schedules. I'd rather it turn into the next Stratholme; folks run it for toys like mounts. Maybe they'll put a new 22 slot bag in her loot pool, etc.
