BG Medical: Quick question

So I'm curious if any of you have had a girl you were with use the Plan B morning after pill, or if any of you ladies have used it yourself?

And if you had any problems, side effects, did it work? etc. etc.

There was a thread with this answer in it... but to humor you... I've had experience with it twice.

It's basically a super-charged birth control pill. It can have the side effect of skipping periods or changing their frequency for a brief period. Sometimes it does nothing. It depends on the girl.

Did Plan B work, or were your swimmers not man enough to complete the job?

There is no way to tell. Well, at least not until you find yourself on the morning of your first prenatal checkup.

I've heard that it sometimes gives severe stomach cramps. Last I heard it worked.

It has a very high success rate, which diminishes the longer you wait after having unprotected sex. After 72 hours, you can forget it (in other words, if they were ovulating, you're screwed).

What it does is increase the level of vaginal mucus produced (instead of fertile mucus, for example) which catches the sperm and (greatly) reduces the chance of fertilization. I believe it also has hormones which disrupt the cycle so that if they were going to ovulate, they either ovulate later or earlier or not at all in some cases.

It consists of 2 pills taken at the same time as soon as possible. I had nausea so I took some Dramamine with it.

Thanks for those of you who left helpful answers. The one she got was the new Plan B: One step. It's just one pill, but it's the same dosage of levonorgestrel as the 2 pills in the original Plan B. They are replacing the originial one with the One Step anyway.

She took it around 20 hours afterwards so it should be all good. She took dramamine with it and said she never felt nauseous. She said she never had any cramps or anything either.

Better be careful with the one-steps. One-step is just Levonorgestrel with a higher dosage.

Plan B® One-Step Consumer: Frequently Asked Questions

Not to say the FDA hasn't tested One-Step, but a higher dosage in a single dose may do fucked up things to the body (and I don't care what the FDA says about regulation).

Best of luck in the future buddy, glad to know we could help.
