    win7 motherboard issues

Any help you might be able to offer would be appreciated.

Built my own computer for the first time (/cheer me) and all worked and has been working well. Although, when I tried to run the motherboard install disc it wouldn't recognize anything as compatible with my system because I installed windows 7.

As of an apparent update last evening, I've lost my network adapter, windows msg is that "Network adapter driver cannot be found". Win 7 won't recognize the install disc for me to find the driver, and I cannot seem to locate a win7 driver on their site.

Any advice on how to get out of this?

Oh, running win7 on a Asus Rampage II Gene motherboard. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Have you tried downloading the Vista driver on the website?

I'll try looking more specific drivers, but try the vista ones for now

Seems like it should work with windows 7 drivers by default from what I've read, but if you're having problems you could try something. Point the device manager's update driver option to the CD folder that corresponds to the Vista x86 or x64 driver, depending on what you installed, for each device you want updated.

Biggest hurdle right now is that win 7 os won't run the motherboard set up disc.

*Motherboard Support CD does not support this operating system (WINT_6.1P_64_MCE.)*

I've attempted allowing it to autorun and hitting in from the disc and no go. I have also attempted to go through the device manager, but it would seem that The Powers That Be at MS have moved/removed/hidden (?) the location of the Network Adapter from their device list, thereby preventing me from trying to update it myself.

My system has been running fine since I fired it up, so to begin with the MS driver must have been fine, all I can come up with is that there was an update that borked it. ><

    Unborking is proving troublesome...

! Found Network adapters in hidden devices (...why?) and everything allegedly shows as working properly. Absolutely clueless now as to what to do with it.

Once Again Go download the Drivers from Asus website directly.

#2 try different CD type (aka 1 music 1 game 1 movie etc) to see if Windows 7 can read them.

search from Rampage II GEne then choose your OS, Depending if you are 32 or 64bits
