I mean I didn't keep any WWSes or anything, but 7500 was pretty normal for me on something like Patchwerk. Double potting, BIS naxx gear, Fireball mage.

Edit: I guess he could just be talking about Rogues, don't know about that after the HaT nerf.

If you did that you'd have been putting out DPS well above what the top mages in the world were doing in that particular gear. Even 6500 would be a bit of a stretch.

I saw WWSes of 9000 on Patchwerk by Fireball and Arcane mages at that time. That of course included Heroism and I have no idea how long the fights where. But 6500 was not high....

9k dps on patch in nax gear = arcane mage in ~1 minute fight with hero

Fireball and Arcane, not saying Heroism wasn't involved though I don't remember seeing any 1 minute patchwerks, I guess its possible. Multiple mages in my guild did in the 7000s in Naxx gear, I don't see the big deal.

Edit: Arcane in a minute can do alot more damage then that. Usually was above 10k during the first two drakes of Sarth 3D.

Like I said I didn't think it was anything special, my guild didn't do WWS and the only screenshots I have are from before I got the gear and without double potting and such of me around 6k.

Top 20 mage parses on patchwerk in the world that have been uploaded to WMO during patch 3.1, only 3 of them are above 7500 and ALL of them are wearing ulduar gear at the minimum. Even if you managed to break 7500 (you didn't) its definitely not "nothing special".

I just find it funny your linking meters of FFB mages when that spec clearly lagged at least 500 DPS behind Fireball and Arcane. Like I said I've never used WoW meter online, and we never used WWS, but the official Mage forums did have a "Post your Patchwerk WWS" thread which did have people breaking 9k. Its good to remember Fireball is pretty RNG, sometimes it works with you, sometimes it doesn't

You are linking meters from December? Did they even have half the gear needed to use good specs to do good damage? I'm talking not long before Ulduar came out, not when Sunwell gear was considered good.

Like I said, I have none. I can post pictures of me doing 5500ish when I was completely undergeared using Fireball spec if you want, but your "proof" is very flawed also. WoW meter online might be legit, I have no idea and don't really care to find out, I know what I did.
