Working PC-8801FE. This is the late release "consolized" version of the Japanese computer, so it can be used on a standard TV instead of needing a PC monitor. This is 1 of 2 of the only known ones in the U.S, to give you an idea of rarity. This thing is HEAVY, you'd pay $400+ getting one to the US just because of weight.

Yeah, only selling it cause I upgraded to a PRO and I need money to donate. I <3 my Drobo. Running a normal RAID5/6/10 array is just one of those minor headaches you don't appreciate until you get something as set-it-and-forget it as the Drobo is.

Tell me more about your Drobo...I tried to do some research but a lot of info has been superseded by info on the 2nd gen/pro versions.

You're just selling it cause you got a new one? (not that I expect you'd be selling a faulty product, just making sure it's not something more like "It does <insert weird trait here> and drives me crazy")

Any particular limitations/bugs/quirks/whatever you've encountered with it?

Sporadic reports about noise problems around the net, any substance to it?

Power appears to come from an AC/DC converter, is it a wall wart or a brick?

Any trouble using it as a network share from a dumb terminal?

Work on linux?

Any complaints about noise would be the fault of the hard-drives inside it, some are more noisy than others.

It's functionally the same as any USB HDD, just with built in raidesque data protection/expandability.

Yeah the noise issue is nothing to be concerned about unless you have jet engine HDDs you're using. The one I use at work slightly hums and is hypnotic if anything.

Noise isn't an issue so you are good in that regard.

Not trying to hijack or anything Darus so please don't take it as such, I just like to back up things in case someone out there doesn't know you like I do or if they are apprehensive about taking a sellers word as fact.

I have 2 Drobo and have never had an issue with either of them in any way, shape or form.
