Where is the sports forum?

Hey, I was just wondering why there was not a sports forum here. When I come here to post about a certain sport I have to climb through the jungle called general, which is comprised of many sports threads: 4-5 different NFL threads, NHL, MMA, Baseball, Tennis, etc. When someone makes a thread relevant to the sport but that isn't going along with the discussion and they post it in general, more often than not, the response is, "NFL thread not here." It does not seem rational the way the sports are treated on here.


If it is admin preference that there is no sports thread then all i have to say is this: This site was obviously created with FFXI in mind. Many of those early members who started here around the age of 17-20 are now much older. They have careers, wives, hobbies, businesses, educations, etc. Early on they were all gamers and had nothing to do with their day but game with each other. Over time they grew up together and now have similar hobbies (like sports) and if they want to discuss them on this wonderful forum that they helped build, that should be facilitated.

After all, isn't that what forums are for? To facilitate their user base with a venue to communicate through.

If it is your prerogative to treat these members of your forums like forum outcasts and limit them to threads with 1k posts in order to discuss all the facets of something they love seems selfish. As an admin shouldn't your primary objective be to help make your user base as happy as possible? After all, that's why you stop me from posting 6 year old's with black eye's in the fuck or duck thread.

As a final note, I'm no where near the fan most of the people here on BG are who talk about sports. I'm just posting my observation of something that, to be quite honest, doesn't make any sense at all.
