I thought the same for most of the first season but he ended up growing on me, he still has his moments tho, and I'll agree is nowhere as good as the rest of cast but isn't horrible.

It was a musical NPH starred in. Before he came back to TV, NPH was (edit: still is) a really good stage performer.

Actually, in "Once More With Feeling" (the Buffy musical episode) they had to use pitch correctors for most of the actors, Alyson Hannigan being one of the worst offenders. But, that turned out ok, so they should be able to manage something.

Oh, and Ted is incredibly pretentious. There are points in season 4 where I simply can't stand him, like when he was talking about the GNB building, and the ETR and all that rebirth chamber stuff. It was physically hard to sit through for me.

Pitch correctors or not "Once more with feeling" was one of the best episodes of Buffy so I have faith this should be great as well.

Agreed. I stopped watching season 1 because I couldn't stand Ted. Glad I gave the show another chance though.

I assume everyone reading about season 5 has seen season 4 so im not gonna spoiler this, according to the advance review the spotlight (for the first ep) is on Barney and Robin =D

Alyson Hannigan can't sing, and she knows it. There's a reason she had like 2 lines total in the Buffy musical episode. For both her sake and my ears' sake, I hope the producers of HIMYM listen to her too. I read an interview where they said she is just as adamant that she doesn't want to sing this time, as she was with the Buffy episode.
