    Announcing the SQUARE ENIX Support Center (10/07/2009)
    Beginning today, we will be launching a new support site called the "SQUARE ENIX Support Center." With this integrated support site, our goal is to provide up-to-date news on all SQUARE ENIX products, resolve our customer's issues even faster, and provide detailed support information, all in the easiest way possible.

    If you encounter any issues with our products or services, please contact us through the "SQUARE ENIX Support Center" and we will work to provide the best solution or forward your request to the appropriate support team. Using the new service, customers will be able to contact us through phone, email, and web chat.

    With our new service, we expect the Game Masters (GM) to be able to handle urgent in-game issues even faster. Also, depending on your inquiry, we will work to provide quick solutions via help desk messages. Please understand that depending on the level of congestion, replies may take longer than usual.

    Additionally, after the maintenance which will occur on Oct. 8, 2009 from 2:00 to 2:30 (PDT), the number of calls that the GMs must process before yours will show as zero, regardless of how many calls there actually may be.
    * We are planning to remove the number of proceeding calls with the next version update.

    From here on, please send all inquiries through the "SQUARE ENIX Support Center" or through the in-game GM petition service.

    No reason to take a "better the evil you know" approach. It's entirely possible this new SE Support Centre will be better than what they had before. It's possible that it won't. Either way, it most likely won't be any worse, and it shows SE's at least trying.

    every game is a beta for the next so 11 is 14s beta and 14 is a beta for their next MMO lol. Shit any MMO before its released will be a beta type thing for any MMO that comes after it^^

    Perhaps it's because I just woke up, but what is the point of this? Seems like instead of having a vague idea of how long you're going to be waiting, you have no idea?

    This does look good though. I definitely agree it appears to be an early model for what they will use with XIV.

    It sounds like they have developed a whole new system which FFXI won't be able to fully integrate with, but they are still going to use it anyway.

    Watch for FF14 to more completely integrate with the support center, *possibly* allowing you to do things like create a trouble ticket and then get a reply back on it even if you aren't around, and then you can reply to that, etc. And they'll be able to tell you how many people are ahead in the queue, or give an estimated waiting time, but just because they could do it doesn't mean they want to do it.

    "Revamped customer service" never bodes well. My ISP revamped theirs... to India. I also particularly like the removal of the number of calls ahead of you feature... so we'll keep you waiting - but now you won't know how long the line ahead of you is - or if the long wait is because GM Dave is actually sat there playing Freecell.

    Well in their defense, it takes more time to actually deal with a problem than it does to read one of the selectable lines from the GM book such as "I understand how this could cause you frustration".

    The site is pretty cool. I like the idea of tickets to check status.

    Ticket History
    When logging into the SQUARE ENIX Support Center using a SQUARE ENIX Account, you will be able to view your previous contact history. After logging in, current support tickets are listed on the right side under "Open." Also, if you click the "Ticket History" link, you can check the following information about your tickets:

    Current Tickets

    Closed Tickets

    Ticket Numbers

    Ticket Dates


    * The ticket history is only available for contacts made while logged in to a SQUARE ENIX account.
