That's about the only thing that does other than how close you get on the elemental balance

It makes a pretty drastic difference too. I've personally seen the HQ rate on augments drop drastically with a 70 v. 80 synergist, to the point I wouldn't even bother wasting tatters with a 70 synergist.

Maybe it adds up all the discrepancies to give a total failure rate? And that just doesn't affect 2-3 element synths as much as a 5-element one. So you were 10 off.

Other than Kitron Macaroons I haven't personally felt any of the others make a difference.

That happened to me a few times, where it looked like it should be a success but it was now. Seconding the "Synergy is douchey" sentiment.

Fire Overload would raise water or ice (dont remember) no? Causing it to go 34 and make you fail synth.
