There is a "set" of Star Wars books, (not really a set but...) They are "The Essential Guide to _______________"

where the blank is like Planets, Weapons, Ships, Characters, ect.

I am currently on the one, "Jedi VS Sith The Essential Guide to the Force.

Series was ok until about book 4 or so. Got retarded after that. Reminds me of of those CN commercials for Inuyasha where they just screamed Inuyasha and Koagome back and forth. Just swap them our for Richard & Kahlan.

reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Very odd writing style, but I'm starting to get into it. It's about a man and his son surviving in a post-apocalyptic America.

Before that I read Pahlaniuk's Lullaby and Murakami's Norweigan Wood. The latter I recommend much more than the former, but Lullaby was still an ok read. Wood was brilliant and beautiful, especially the end.

I don't often get a chance to read for pleasure, but a friend highly recommended to me The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul, by Douglas Adams, and I finished that up a little while ago. Have to say it was quite a good read considering I had no idea what it was going to be about when I got into it

If you're liking The Road, check out Blood Meridian next. I'm a huge McCarthy fan.

And on my part, I'm rereading Journey to the End of the Night.

I just read this, I didn't realize the series was a trilogy with only 1 book out so far until the end ;_; I bought it off Kindle store and it said nothing about it being book 1. lol.

Going to re-read Alera now for First Lord's Fury :3 After that, guess it's finally time to dust off WoT 1-11..

The Road kept me into it, Blood Meridian was a bit rough with some of the long winded commentary on the scenery. I really enjoyed the "All the Pretty Horses" Trilogy.

I just finished The Miracle of Castel di Sangro, about a minor league soccer club in Italy that makes it up to the 2nd highest division from a town of 5,000 people. Real nice writing style by Joe McGinniss.

Just finished Reaper's Gale, Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erickson. Pretty good fantasy series, I certainly enjoy it more than the aforementioned Sword of Truth series (and completely agree with the criticism of it. After the third book it was awful). Next book will either be the next book in this series, or The Gathering Storm.

This was a great series but it really teeters on Toll The Hounds.

Anyways I just finished The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. Highly recommend picking this one up.

December of this year? I'm used to it being a much longer wait.

Personally I'm always willing to pay extra to have the book day one; I'm just too big a fan to wait. You might try looking for a PDF or some other electronic version online until you can pick up the paperback.

Just got back into reading, been quite a few years since I picked up a good book.

Finishing up "Shadow of the Hegemon" of the Ender's Game series by Orson Card.

Will likely pick up Xenocide or Shadow of the Giant next.

I'm almost done, this is my first time reading so I'm not trying to rush.

You know, the cover looks so stupid. It looks like a romance novel or something...

Found that out after I finished the book, went looking all over town for it but I couldn't find it. Now I gotta wait a week until it comes in
