I just finished Choke by Chuck Palahniuk, it was really fucking good. I'm having a tough time deciding what to read next, I don't really think I want to read Fight Club just yet. leaning towards Lullaby right now, also by Palahniuk, either that or a different genre. An article I read suggested Crystal Rain by Tobias Buckell so I'm a bit torn because both look really good.

    I just finished reading this:

I first read it when I was 11 or 12 and absolutely loved it. I've read it again several times since and still loved it. This time I read a feminist literary critique of the plot and characters before reading it and it spoiled it for me. Very sexist novel but still wonderfully swashbuckling. Ah well, don't read literary critiques, especially feminist ones, before you read something (I ruined Ender's Game the same way for myself).

Now I'm listening to the entire Discworld series by Terry Pratchett, in chronological order by publishing date, on audiobook at work (I have a great job sometimes). Discworld never fails to deliver. I'm up to "The Last Continent".

I'm also reading this on the side, and it's quite interesting (I needed to learn some Canadian naval history for a board interview to join the Canadian navy). Opening up a side of history, especially the WWII naval battles of the Northwest Atlantic, that I never knew. I had never known that there were actually U-Boat battles in the St. Lawrence river in 1941 and how difficult the Canadian navy had it. I also never realised how bloody stupid Canadian politicians have been about the Canadian navy.

I'm going to read Invisible Monsters and then Fight Club. I read Rant which was pretty good but I heard IM is amazing so I'm pretty excited.

Lullaby is really good, really crazy but good. I'd go with either Survivor or Lullaby next, although I haven't read Rant or Invisible Monsters yet which I've heard good things about as well.

Invisible Monsters and Survivor are by far and away his best two books. I'd personally read Invisible Monsters next.

Just got my first house and bought it just to have some new recipes to try out.

When I got if I found out that it's much more than a recipe book and goes in depth on every aspect of cooking.

Great read for anyone thats remotely interested in cooking or just looking to improve their culinary skills.

I received a copy of that as a gift, I have read through most of it in small segments. Some of it was interesting, but overall I thought it could have been more well done.

Currently reading a compilation by CJ Henderson, he does lovecraftian horror. Really nice and a bit more accessible than HP lovecraft himself.

Qalbert bumped the equivalent thread in spam, and that reminded me of something to add.

Also, David Webber has a new Honor Harrington out, and Jacqueline Carrie has a new Terre d'Ange out.
