Shadows and Bands are fine. They're not the greatest Sanderson work, but they're not so bad they're not worth reading. Started Perdido Street Station today, enjoying it so far.

That could be fun.
I just started The Stars Are Legion by Kameron Hurley. It's fucking weird so far. No really impressions yet but it's short so hopefully I can make a judgement soon.
I gave it a no-go after ~200 pages. I liked some of the writing style ideas but too much femininity, too much fluids, and way too soft on the use of a sci-fi setting for my personal taste.
Currently into book two of the Ixan Prophecies Trilogy. Good space realpolitik/military hard sci-fi so far with no lacking in violence. Scott Bartlett is a quietly underrepped author who's been really pumping out solid sci-fi the last few years. If the 3rd is this good then it'll be an easy "8.5, would gift for x-mas" rating.
Yeah I gave up. Second book I've quit reading in the last few years. It got very shitty very quickly and wayyyy overused plot devices and stupid tropes. I didn't even notice everyone was a chick until after I posted my review on Goodreads.
Just picked up the first book of Eragon because I just realized I never read it.
I've got a coworker hooked on Red Rising. I brought the trilogy in for him to read but I'm trying not to give out any spoilers when discussing it. So many small details like relationships and houses, who is still alive later. I'm thinking about doing a reread if I can finish Hero of Ages before he gets to book 2.
Red Rising is great. Eragon not so much, though Paolini wrote it when it was like 15 IIRC, so not going to hold it against him.
Amazon just suggested the 4th book in the red rising series... I didn't know he was going to do another. Now i can't wait to do another read through before it comes out again.

I'm having a lot easier time getting through the second Lightbringer book.
finished the first and am halfway through the 2nd book of The Strain. it's really, really good.
they're dick dancing around it. setrakian's got the book and some allusions have been made. he tells vaj that he'll tell him when he's sure.
I'm rereading the Eragon books.
Finished Hero of Ages... I'm not sure what direction I'm going next. A friend recommended the Traveler by John Twelve Hawks.
I went ahead and ordered the first book of The Stormlight Archive and downloaded the audio book. I'll come back around to give era 2 of Mistborn a shot later.
