Reading the entire Dune series starting from the first three prequels based on the notes Frank Herbert left

The Bultlerian Jihad ( Done, excellent book )
    The Machine Crusade ( Excellent ! )
    Battle of Corrin

Then will be House Atredies, House Harkonnen, House Corrino. After that, the Dune series which was finally finished ( Herbert left a book basically finished called Dune7... son split it up into two books : Heretics of Dune, and Sandworms of Dune ).

As much as I love Dune, the books after God Emperor are really tough for me to read...I just can't get into them at all.

Rereading the Mistborn books. Listening to the Audio version of the Way of Kings, and waiting on one of my friends to lend me another book. I don't know why i've been on such a reading surge lately.

    There, done with Rule 34.
It's... ok, good, but my complaint involves spoilers. Worth reading regardless.

Reading A Game of Thrones, hope to finish A Clash of Kings before season 2 starts. The thing that bugs me is the way GRRM writes sometimes - it can seem so amateur when he puts thoughts into a narrative, when there is no narrator. Like, towards the beginning, there's a line he writes "try and tell that" and it is not really clear that a character is thinking that. I can also understand characters using common vernacular, but "try to tell that" would have made slightly more sense. There are other things, like "According to legend..." in describing some of the families - this is all in his head, he is legend. There's no need to say "According to legend" any more than there is need to start every post you make in a forum with "I think." Of course you think, even if you are retarded, otherwise you wouldn't be on the forum. Other stuff, but I'm only on page 41.

Currently reading "The Passage" by Justin Cronin...what a great book. I'm almost half through and it's so well written it amazes me page after page. Check it out if you're into apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic stuff.

Heretics of Dune was kinda out there... but I think that's because Herbert was trying to include Daniel and Marty ( turned out to be Omnius and Erasmus from the Machine wars ) in there as well as making Duncan the Ultimate Kwizatz Haderach. Sandworms of Dune flows really nice though.

Just finished A Wise Man's Fear. Now I get to sit and wait impatiently for the third book of the Kingkiller Chronicle to be written. Seven years for the first book, four for the second...fml.

Going to read The Omen Machine tomorrow, followed by the Mistborn books.

Unless I'm misreading, you're mistaken. There is no omniscient third-person narrator in A Song of Ice and Fire. The non-italicized writing is not in Martin's head; it's the point-of-view character making observations and recalling facts as an unreliable narrator, so "According to legend . . . " actually makes sense.

Just finished reading the Hunger Games Trilogy. The style it is written in is somewhat simplistic but the story is really solid and it is a fun quick read.

I haven't finished it, but I was referring to the family histories in the end of the book and I don't know who is supposed to be writing those. In the description of House Greyjoy's history: "Legend says the Grey King..." I can understand a character using that phrase, but not Martin. All of this isn't a big deal though, as I'm halfway through the book and have gotten used to his writing and have been thoroughly enjoying it. I'm glad I still have three rather long books ahead of me in the series and I'll definitely finish A Clash of Kings before season 2 starts up.

The appendices aren't really Martin, either. They're just a reference of information that has been noted in the main story already, which may or may not be correct, since a significant amount of the backstory is told through unreliable (either biased or misinformed) mediums.

Second two books weren't NEARLY as good as the first, but agreed: series is solid as a rock.

Aren't the Hunger games books just like an americanized version of Battle Royale? Or does it do something to distinguish itself.
