Really? I generally hated Perrin / Faile's arcs. Mat's were by far my favorite (not early on, but after his recuperation in Tar Valon), particularly once his lady gets involved.

By book 10 I was ready for the DM to collapse the walls and start over.

Yeah later on there were just too many damned characters. Once every witch chick under the sun started getting their own chapters I was officially done.

A little halfway through 1st Lightbringer book and I'm not a fan of how the characters switch around so frequently. Gives me the feeling that I'm not making much progress in the story. Either that or there really isn't much progress going on.

Almost 3/4 done with Black Prism. Do the next books spend less time trying to explain every detail of this magic system? Sometimes makes me feel like I'm reading a tutorial with little else going for it. Not that it's enough to get me to give up the series, there just seems to be a few other things I'd rather the book be doing.


And this is kind of book related, but I've read two of the Dresden Files graphic novels. Wild Card and War Cry. They were good, though imo Wild Card had a lame ending.

I've been waiting 2 months for her to finish both books. I had a list of like 50 questions.

To be honest, I started skimming through the bigger paragraphs.

I do have one question for people who've read Lightbringer (Zetanio, you can read this spoiler if you've read far enough to know who Gavin is.):

So maybe I missed it in the first book, but was there any reason given why Daven pretends to be Gavin? The book goes through exasperated lengths detailing how he did it, but I don't think there was a single reason stating why. If I missed it in book one, then obviously that makes this following statement null and void, but if there isn't a reason then that's kind of bad and I don't know if I can keep reading this series because that means the only reason it happened was because the author needed it to happen for convoluted plot reasons. If it does get explained later and its for some plot twist, then that's also pretty bullshit because you can't just leave a detail out like that when you spend more than half your book explaining EVERYTHING in full detail.
