Orson Scott Card's Ender/Bean series (Ender's Game/Ender's Shadow etc), Stephen R Donaldson's Thomas Covenant series (very underrated), and Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series are long series that I have particularly enjoyed. Obv my previous posts show that I would recommend the Dragonriders of Pern series (it's not as gay as it sounds, I swear!).

seconding the Ender/Bean suggestion. Also completed series to get, Dragonlance Chronicles and Legends and Deathgate Cycle (Weiss & Hickman), Foundation (Asimov), Prince of Nothing (Bakker), Malazan Book of the Fallen (Erikson), Lord of the Rings (Tolkien), Otherland (Williams), Riftwar Saga (Feist), Thrawn Trilogy (Zahn).

    *edit*

Personally couldn't get into Thomas Covenant series. Just something about it being 99% internalization that made it a struggle to read.

A Song of Ice and Fire: A Dance with Dragons

About 1/3 through the book. I'm really liking it.

Third book is still my favourite from the ones I have read so far.

Just finished reading Double Dead by Chuck Wending. For a cliche vampire/zombie mashup story, it was very well written and had a few surprises, the first being it was actually really good.

Firstly, as posted earlier: The Name of the Wind + A Wise Man's Fear are must reads for any fantasy fan. Must read.

Secondly, it's about that time again... Where you read the Wheel of Time from start to finish, in anticipation of the final book, hits... well fucking sometime. It was originally planned as a March release, wiki'd it now just to check, looks like Sanderson completed it now, he posted it was completed on Dec.21st, but said the revisions could take up to 6 months, so anywhere from late march to nov >_> Fuck. Maybe I started re-reading the books a bit early

I just finished Prince of Thorns. Has anyone else read this? Man it really pwned. When I was posting about it earlier i was only about a quarter to halfway thru. Kind of bitter that its another series where I have to wait for the follow ups. oh well.
