Using ps3 controller on PC

Fiance is having a little bit of trouble with this, so figured I'd ask here.

The ps3 controller works just fine on the PC, but every time he hits the ps button to turn onthe controller, it also turns the ps3 console on. He's looked up a couple of guides to get the controller to reset/detach itself from the ps3 (like hitting the small button inside with a pen), but nothing seems to work. Anyone know what needs to be done?

It is, and still turns on the ps3

Actually it can go wireless via BT, but only on 32bit systems, no one has written the driver in 64bit. Unless it's changed within the last year, that's how I used to play on PC before I quit last year. Yeah, I know lolcontroller.

I sometimes forget about it being plugged in and hit shutdown on my PC on the way out the door to work to save power... only to come home and realize I traded having a sleeping PC on all day for a fucking 80gig PS3 lol.
