I'm on the CS in Gustav part, where if ur in windower mode, it wont proceed. I'm sure its posted somewhere else, but i cant find it. how the hell do i load FF in full screen? i cant figure out how to turn windower mode off. I thought i did it in the start menu configs, but neither worked...pelase help!

There's a couple of those, people in my LS were complaining about that. Have you tried turning off plugins?

no matter which i click, the windower shortcut, or the actual pol program inside the playonline, it starts pol with PlayOnline..etc Windower Mode in the header of the program

Just log out of windower/official windower. Go to playonline in your programs list and load the game that way. You don't have to repeat the fight, just click on the outcropping again to get the CS.

Edit: you posted again before I submitted this. I have zero experience with official windower, but I know several ppl who had this problem and did as I originally said, and had no problems >.>

thats what my friend did, but i dont have that option in my start menu. These are my options:

FFXI Config
Final Fantasy XI
PlayOnline Config

On my pc when I go to start > all programs > playonline, there's 4 sub folders: FFXI, Playonline viewer, TetraMaster, and one simply titled Playonline. The last one is what you want...If it's not in your all programs list you can just find it by going through your C drive --
C > Program files > playonline > click whichever one says playonline with the blue circle logo.

Maybe that will help

Edit again: the options you listed are what you get from the subfolders, so playonline should be one step back

Right, then from that SE folder, open PlayOnlineViewer, scroll down to the the POL logo that says "pol" next to it -- that should open just regular playonline w/o official windower.

Having the same problem, which is leaving me stuck in a conundrum. If I use windower, the cutscene crashes me. If I load POL without windower, when it tries to go to fullscreen mode, my entire screen flickers between all black and my background before crashing and giving me the message that it failed to initialize Direct3D or whatever. This computer has Vista so I tried loading FFXI on my old computer which doesn't have Vista, and that likewise crashed and gave the same error message (just without the screen flickering). Tried looking around for solutions but wasn't having any luck. Sorry to ask for help, but anyone have any ideas here?
