FFXI Lag spikes?

Ever since about 2 updates ago whenever I am in combat or running its very annoying and my game will lag for about 2-4 seconds every minute or so. Nothing on my computer has changed but it noticed it started happening after an the update a few months ago. Its really screwing with my game as I can't tank or Kite anything properly due to it freezing for a couple moments.
Ideas?

And yes, typically there is one computer that's connected to the wireless router via an ethernet cable, for router administration purposes. And there are some fanatics like me that wired their entire fuckin house for ethernet access in every room, lol.

My lag spikes are ffxi only any other online game works just fine. FFXI used to work fine until that update. So I'm assuming its something that SE did in programming.

Hmm well according to my ping its not lagging too much, 0% loss, but the lil program does reduce the maximum lag very slightly.
Tried a couple of quick fights on ffxi it might have worked I'll fully test it later tonight.

No problem, though let me explain what the program does and why it works.

WLAN Autoconfig is a service that runs on Vista (and 7, I think). Once per minute, it rescans to find available wireless networks, and it creates a really harsh lag spike once per minute because of this. Simply turning the service off does not work though, because I think it's required in order to connect to wireless networks, period.

What the Vista Anti-Lag program does is, it allows you to disable that service without the negative side effects.

This explanation may not be 100% accurate or complete, but it should give you a good idea of why this solution may have fixed your issue.
