    disappointed the death of Makrov wasn't permanent. He too had a solid arc and ending that best fit him. Completely worthy. It feels cheap. I get no one stays dead in this one but that doesn't change that this feels the most cheap of them all.

    I have a feeling this is all going to end with Lucy being the new leader of Fairy Tail. It'd be a nice touch where she was such a huge fan of the guild in the beginning and a part in getting everyone back together.

    I don't follow your logic. There's are multiple masters of Fairy Tail that are still alive. In fact, Makarov has been alive for a majority of the series and retired/made master 2-3 times.

    Difference being that Makarov is forever years old, Maevis is dead. Erza doesn't have a reason to drop out of the role if she stays alive.
