I love the Colts. They are my 2nd favorite team (since I had to grow up watching/hearing about them because of my dad). But I think forfeiting is the worse decision any coach can make for a team headed to the playoffs. A lose on any level is going to effect the team. Now all you will hear is sportcasters talking about what they "could" have accomplished rather than "will they" accomplish. That's going to suck everytime you turn on the tv. I always want a Cowboys/Colts Super Bowl, would be interesting in my household. But because of this bonehead move, I hope the Jets make the playoffs and bounce Indy from them.
As Tyche said, if you start laying off games to win the super bowl, you better deliver. Caldwell effectively put more pressure on his team to win it all. Anything short of that will be met with the utmost scrutiny.
Also, didn't the Colts have homefield locked up prior to playing Jags? They sure as hell didn't layoff then. That was a hell of a game and took last minute heroics to win that one.
I HATE BRETT FAVRE I NEVER WANT TO SEE HIS NAME OR FACE AGAIN I DON'T CARE HOW GOOD HE IS AT FOOTBALL, NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN SUCKED OFF THIS MUCH BY THE MEDIA BEFORE
ok, i'm done
If the Jets get in its because they beat the Bengals next week. Which would make them the 5 seed, and the Bengals the 4 seed. So they'd play eachother again back to back weeks, not the pats. May not even have to see them at all.
And regardless, the jets beat the pats once this year already.
Week 2 Patriots aren't exactly week 16 Patriots.
It'll be interesting to see if Cinci plays or not.
Doubt they will. Since they're in a unique situation where they're guaranteed to see the Jets again if they lose, I think it's almost smarter to only play your defensive starters and gauge what schemes work against Sanchez and to see how they pick up blitzes. The Jets have to play all out, it gives Cincy a huge advantage in terms of scouting and seeing what works. Then when you see them in the playoffs you'll have an idea of what your defense needs to do whereas the Jets haven't seen your first string offense. Maybe it's just me, but it makes sense.
If the Jets lose, they're out, correct? Why not just knock them out now.
The way they played on sunday, there's no reason Cinci should rest their starters as well.
(please let that never happen)Fox will be fired, Snyder will hire him, and mizango will win the world.
The enemy you know vs the enemy you don't know for one...
Also, an oldie but a goodie: http://www.theonion.com/content/news...es_brett_favre
cinnci does have something to play for and it's why the patriots will play their starters too. If you get the 3 seed and somehow afc championship is 3-4 seed, it's played in 3's building. I honestly don't see either coach throwing that away no matter how
it is
Then again, they weren't supposed to get into the playoffs either. Has Romo been cured of his Decemberitis?

Oh man, Cowboys are in the playoffs and I've won my fantasy cash league. Football has treated me well this weekend!
If we fuck it up again in the playoffs I'm going to lose it....
Interesting. At the end of the game next week, there's a possibility that if the Cowboys win, they're the #2 seed, but if they lose they are #6 seed. That's just so bizarre to me.
