what does your girlfriend think about your effort...
ohwait, nvm
You sir, are the biggest fucking nerd I have ever seen. Who the fuck does something like this? I mean really? Are you seriously proud of yourself?
Guys, what skill chain shall we make?
HANG ON LET ME GRAB MY HUGE ASS BOARD
Inconvenience at its finest.
He can just look at it O.o No need to grab anything ;p
Anyway... wow~~
I'm sorry, but I have to reserve the 'Biggest Nerd' title for a friend of mine that built a wood framed cockpit of the Millenium Falcon large enough to fill a room to be used as a video gaming center... large enough to have two gaming chairs so you could bring a friend... complete with running lights and a hard-wired X-Box 360 & PS3 with a switch box to toggle between the two.
The difference though is that's actually kinda cool.
If you could somehow have sex, WITH A REAL GIRL, on that chart, i will donate 20 dollars to you, not shitting you either. Also you'll need to get pics, nudity not required but i have to atleast make like i believe your getting your dick wet.
AND: if you can get them up by Sunday the 10th, i'll donate 30 dollars to BG!
But that would mess up the chart!
I like to see guys like him carrying out their interest even if it is very nerdy. It shows passion and dedication, plus way better than someone carrying out something illegal or fools acting like e-thugs on the Internet.
I think it would be cooler if he made the world's largest paper mache mandragora.
On the topic of nerddom, I was considering the size of Vana'diel maps and whether or not they're to scale. This is more of a question of the scale comparing two maps.
The example I had in mind was if one were to combine all the maps of Vana'diel areas together onto a single map (barring underground and above ground areas), how large would it be. Zoom is of course and issue.
I thought it would be an interesting project if one were well versed in CAD. Because the maps don't match entirely, one would have to use poetic license filling in geographic features of Vana'diel that are spoken about in quests or on maps.
You could further this waste of time by placing NPC markers on the maps that would allow for a Google Earth esque zoom feature to find a particular mob or npc. A three-dimensional layout could be included for areas that are underground or overhead.
Thank you for entertaining this foray into obsession with FFXI.
I think I've actually seen that done before, although only for pre-CoP areas.
I know i have the pics of the "Full Vanadiel" saved in my external HD, some1 in an old shell i was posted it on the forums. Problem is....my HD aint organized so....
I found the pic still on the forums, hope it works.

he wasnt referring to this one, its the one where all the individual zone maps were combined. I saw it before.. it looks pretty interesting.. some parts actually match up very well...
but truth be told, there are actually gaps in the world, particularly where people zone. You aren't actually moving directly behind the zoneline into another area whenever you zone. There's probably some 'dead area' in between that doesn't require mentioning, which is why maps dont particularly join up well..
Spoiler: show
That one?
yes.. that one
Jesus I love you. I used to work at a print shop and no one vectored shit so they would come in and be like "I need this HUEG" so I would blow it up and it would look like shit and then they would bitch for 5 hours. I literally had to convince them that CSI was not real and whatever they used on their computers to "Enhance" an image with data that was not captured (i.e. make the computer pull shit out of it's ass) was either non-existant or out of their budget.
On a side note:
This thread sure is ADDDDVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEE EEDDDDDDD.
