Hidden job trait, or Glitch?

I don't know if this is old news, but it is certainly strange...

It would seem that being SMN main job boosts Wide Scan I to Wide Scan II for no apparent reason. As THF75/BST15, the Wide Scan was approximately 1/2 a map square (pretty much sight range), but as SMN75/BST15, it was ~2 full map squares (in the same zone).

I didn't test this with any other job combinations yet, and I didn't test with /RNG to check if it granted +1 to Wide Scan or if it just put it to Level 2.

(For those that don't know, BST has Wide Scan I from 1-20 whereas RNG starts with Wide Scan II at lvl 1)

Is it possible that as thf, there were no mobs in the extra radial area? Albeit pretty unlikely, but moreso a just incase?
Best to have 2 chars stand on top of each other and widescan at the same time? or check distance via a NPC in the area (since they dont move)

Does not seem to work with SMN6/BST3 (different character), which would indicate that SMN straight up gets Wide Scan II at some later level without ever getting Wide Scan I. I'm guessing that at some point, SMN was gonna get Wide Scan, but SE changed their minds and took it away but accidentally left the second trait in. I wonder if any jobs have random stuff like this. Perhaps we'll find someday that something has Dual Wield II or something random like that without ever getting Dual Wield I.

When I was camping Shikigami Weapon, I used 75SMN/13BST. The widescan covered almost the whole map. Using /RNG did not produce the same results.

Depends entirely on whether or not it's actually useful.

If it has no practical value at all ever, it's OK.
If it is any good, it's an exploit.
