I was tryin to find the clip in part2 when he is talking about that's the trouble with aliens you just can't trust em
Yes, and look at all that Ernie Hudson and what not from SNL. It worked great!
... Wait.
Ernie Hu?
So because you didn't find it a laugh riot, it shouldn't be a comedy?
What do you define as a comedy?
Of course I laughed.
I guess what I mean by comedy is the typical comedies that Wiig and McCarthy have been in.
Comedies like that aren't what made Ghostbusters great.
kuro is clearly more of an SCTV man, fuck SNL
I'm going to have to... agree with Kuro here.
Ghostbusters... It wasn't stupid over the top idiot comedy on par with Adam Sandler films, and frankly I've yet to see McCarthy in a movie that wasn't that "tier" of comedy. Shes in some funny movies but shes typecasted hard, and I don't think blunt slapstick is going to work for a Ghostbusters.
But hey, maybe they'll finally un-type cast McCarthy and we'll get the same general feel and not just a "Oh look, shes playing herself again!"... and we'll get a good movie.
Ghostbusters to me felt more like a serious comedy, if that makes sense. It was a good mixture of serious and comedy that made it awesome.
I'm walking out at the first fat joke, fart noise, or period remark.
i dont always watch comedies, but when i do, i watch them with my pinkie up
I think McCarthy is terrible. She just comes off as a tryhard in anything I've ever seen her in. Wiig is awesome though.
I see the op is updated so I take it all that shit is confirmed? Idg why Akroyd isn't writing it, I take it they said fuck his idea and went without him
Y'all never watched an episode of Mike & Molly before? McCarthy is pretty normal on that show and she is still funny.
Yeah, have you guys seen St. Vincent's with her and Bill Murray? Overall that movie is pretty okay but she had a really strong performance in it.
She had comedic moments in it but they were toned down compared to say Brides Maids or some of the more over the top stuff
I know they can both do serious stuff, but I'm worried that we're going to get the wrong comedy here.
It would be like if they made another Futurama movie but instead of clever jokes they just go Family Guy.
End of the day it won't have the nostalgia the original two have attached to them and at best we can hope a faithful adaptation of the first updated for modernity.
I highly doubt we're going to get Family Guy tier stuff here. The original GB was essentially a sci-fi movie not taking itself seriously. Humor was never in your face but you'd have to be asleep not to see the whole thing runs like an extended sketch.
who?
