The first episode of Archer season 9 is completely insane

Without getting too far into spoilers, this season takes place on a small tropical island in the year 1939. While the regular cast members are playing mostly the same characters as they did in previous seasons, this iteration of the Archer crew are all tweaked to better fit the island and historical setting. Archer is a pilot, Lana is the Island’s princess, and Krieger is a sentient parrot.

First episode is up. Was pretty funny. Not nearly as serious as Dreamland. Also make sure you watch the 90 seconds or so before the opening credits otherwise a couple of things don't make sense right out the gate.

Krieger as a parrot had me rolling

The whole episode was gold. Few call backs to previous episodes. Plane's name was Rip's planes name from Heart of Archness, the bell hop was a ripped version of the spa guy that Cheryl tries to promote in the Bobs Burgers episode. And obviously the eye patch is a throw back to Rip sadly getting spooned by Noah. Can't wait for the rest of the episodes.

Also, didn't the voice of the guy Cheryl cheated on sound a lot like either Charles or Rudy?

I am loving Pam this season. She's absolute gold when she's with Sterling.

Pam has always been great. I pretty much fell in love with her on the episode Dial M for Mother when she breaks down in tears in front of Lana because no one would sleep with her.

It was. Probably in tribute to it being episode 100. I just love that before the big fight he's describing how it was be wave after wave of progressively more difficult encounters, followed by a boss fight and Cyril evolves from coke head to wielding a spacebot with flame throwers, to hitler in a spacebot.
