to me, he knew he was going to die, so he set up a nen trap on his heart that would activate when his nen got stronger(upon his death) so he would resuscitate himself.
Now since he technically died, his nen strength/abilities should be multiplied, hence his magical insight on how to heal/replace his body parts, and why he beat Kortopi and Shalnark(also because he lent his phone to chrollo) so easily

And rereading everything again to get back into it is kind of meh

It starts off finishing up the King Cell (forget his actual name) arc then starts off the next one.

A Twitter account said to be run by Hunter x Hunter author Yoshihiro Togashi posted a small update on Tuesday: a photo of the corner of a manga page with a sentence that roughly translates to “4 more episodes for the time being.” The account is brand-new, so it is unverified, although the bio claims that it is, indeed, official, and that Togashi will be using it to update his progress. One Punch Man artist Yusuke Murata says that the account is Togashi, and Polygon has reached out to Viz Media, U.S. publisher of Hunter x Hunter, for confirmation.

Yeah, he apparently has a lot of longstanding health issues. It was rumored for a while his wife (the sailor moon artist) was going to help him finish HxH.

It's been almost 4 years since he's released a single chapter thou, it was spotty before that lol.
