That's because he WAS Tetsuo in Chronicle. That movie is Akira for the most part.

Pretty much. The whole time I was watching it with my wife I was telling her it was basically Akira. She asked me what Akira was. When she regained consciousness after walking into a door I explained to her what it was.

I pointed it out to her on the dvd shelf. She likes some anime so she will most likely watch it on her own. She's not a huge fan of stand alone anime movies though, she prefers a series. I may just happen to start watching it this weekend to make sure she sees it lol.

Start her with Ghost in the Shell SAC then show her Akira so she's in the right frame of mind for the story (If definitely not for the camp of the 80's dub)
