That has the thing about Utley, the one about Howard was about a month ago so I don't remember where I saw it
Bregor you are officially dead to me.
I always read:
http://crashburnalley.com/ - Easily the best Phillies blog for facts, figures, and decidedly lacking in bullshit.
http://www.thefightins.com/ - Filled with pro-Phillies bullshit, I love it.
http://www.the700level.com/ - Covers all of Philly sports.
I read about Chase Utley here and like most fans owe Ken Rosenthal an apology for calling his Lee/Halladay blockbuster bullshit. There's also a blog that Phillies and Mets fans co-maintain called We're the Team to Beat but it's been pretty one sided. Todd Zolecki's MLB blog isn't bad either, but it usually gets scooped by one of the three up there.
Surprised how many people are picking the Dodgers. I don't think they're that good. The only guy they resigned in the offseason was Padilla, they lost a lot of players. And the ownership situation there is blowing up, who knows what trades they're forced to make to shed payroll? Either way, I don't seem them being as good this year. I think the Giants should at least be a favorite to compete with them for the title.
700 Level is one of my daily sites, I'll have to start reading the other two.
Edit: Geez at how much Chase improved over the offseason. He's quickly becoming baseball's version of Kobe.
I agree with you Ceph. I think the Dodgers are on their way to being a hot mess with all of their off field drama. I think the Giants and Rockies have what it takes to compete and overcome the Dodgers.
Decided to fly a new sig to honor the team I love.
That's Ted Leo, right? Breaks my heart to see Philly fans liking the Ted, lol.
One year away, bro. 3-6 in their lineup is pretty good, so they'll score some runs. I just hope they manage Strasburg well. What sucks is I like what Atlanta and Florida are doing in the division, so it's an uphill battle. But at least they won't lose 100 games again!
Ha. Ted Leo is one of my three favorite musicians of all time. He didn't mind when I nerded out when I met him last year too. I am dying to hear his new album and I'm seeing him again at the Church in April. If it makes you feel any better, every girl I've ever dated who's gone to DC has come home and dumped me.
I'd love to go down to DC and catch a Phillies/Nats game. I need to go up to Citi Field and see a Phillies/Mets game too. And it would be really wonderful to make an overnight trip to Pittsburgh and see a Phillies/Pirates game.
I've tried to convince my wife to go to Pittsburgh for a Nats/Pirates game, but so far no dice. And I think Bregor can back me up on this, any game against the Phils in DC has a minimum of 10,000 Philly fans there. Not an exaggeration.
The Ted is great. He was based out of DC back in the day, and used to play solo (electric) shows before he put the Pharmacists together. They were amazing. If you haven't, you should check out his early work when he was in Chisel. Super good.
Yep. Chisel is awesome. "The O.T.S" and "The Town Crusher" are among my favorites. I saw him do a solo show at a bar in Philly with my girlfriend last year. It was amazing. And even though he hates playing the church in Philly with the Rx, so glad he does.
No real reason I picked the Dodger's, I hate them and the Rockies.
You don't want to do that. Going to Citifield I mean. I went to 4 phils/mets games last year and the phils fans had some of the worst times ever lol.
But in all seriousness those games were really fun. Citifield is awesome, and with some of the new decorations and stuff that they are supposed to be adding as well as lowering the CF wall to make it look nice you'd enjoy it. I still stand by the fact that Citifield looks nicer than Yankee STadium. Most the money spent on Yankee stadium is really hard to see from the field cept for the outside structure and the Casino. Citifield is much more friendly and the food is better. If you do go, get the ribs from blue smoke.
I have a friend who lives in the Bronx who is always trying to get me up to see a game with her. We have a friendly rivalry going, but I'll admit she is a bit more resolute in her hatred for the Phillies than mine for the Mets. I'll brave it eventually.
You are insane and/or you've never eaten in the NY steakhouse! The cheesesteaks are awesome too (yes, cheesesteaks.)
As for which field looks nicer, meh, matter of personal preference. Obviously I'm going to like the field my team plays in unless there's something glaringly wrong with it.
I tried to make it to DC last season for a game but my wife was laid off and I didn't have the money. I don't really have any desire to go to NY for any games but I might, who knows. I have a wedding near Detroit in May so I might try to catch a Tigers game while I'm out there. Either way I'm hoping to go to more than the 1 game I went to last year.
Btw of the 6 games I've gone to the past 2 seasons Jamie Moyer and Adam Eaton (lol) were the starters for all of them. I definitely shooting for a Halladay start if possible, or at least a Hamels.
