I feel this way as well, just hoping there will be more waves where they perhaps try to rope in some people that have long FFXI careers, but may not necessarily be playing right now. If they're starting at an alpha stage it makes me feel like they're going to have a bit more of a prolonged beta period, sooo I'll keep hope alive!

I'm not in! In the Email i seen it says that the Beta will begin months after the Alpha.

Not everyone is going to get in. I would be surprised if everyone who has always been active got in. It's early and early beta/alpha tests are generally small. More people will get invited as you go and if this is like some other betas you either will get in for sure during the stress test time or by pre-ordering the game.

I'm gutted, been playing 5+ years since EU release, never suspended my account, got token and still not in alpha. Only made 1 beta application and that was within hours of signup site going live.

Question for the people that got in, did you mark PC as your primary way to play it? Just wondering if Alpha is for PC users and not PS3.

On a side note, does anyone know how much room the FF14 alpha/beta is gonna take up (disc space wise)? I know it was announced when you sign up I just don't recall. I'm playing on the boot-camp side of a mac and may have to delete most of everything if it's huge (like FFXI is..).

I can tell SE will have quite a few cancelled FFXI accounts from a fair bit of long time players who didn't get in soon D:

Can always install it on an external drive.

As for the poster who is thinking your pc isnt good enough ~ I wouldnt say mine is top notch by any means ~ 3 main parts being AMD Dual Core 6400 (3.2) and ATI 4850(512MB) Vid ~ 4GiG o Ram ~

I may have only gotten in to test the dual core playability tho as I think someone posted they (SE) said Quad Cores would be recommended
