    Droid Apps/Themes?

I picked up a Motorola Droid recently. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on Apps and/or Theme type apps for it.

Thanks for the reference to the other threads. However, neither one of them helps me out with the Theme issue, which was the major part of my post. I know there are a lot of "desktop" software for the droid, ahome, open home, etc. I want to know which people feel is best, and if anyone knows of a place to get any good ones.

Apps like Swype, I still cant find on the Marketplace. Is this only available from their website?

Well my opinion on the subject would be that theme apps are a waste of running resources, its Android. You can already change anything you could possibly want by default.

Root your Droid and install Eclair on it.

Its the same concept as jail-breaking your iPhone but you get a lot more control over the phone. Can install modded versions of Android OS, Market Apps that require root (SU), can change install custom themes, overclock your phone's cpu, and use your phone as a tether (Pretty sure this is actually standard on Eclair these days) - I'm probably missing a lot more though.

I had Eclair on my G1 but had to remove it cause the phone seriously lacks the hardware for it. So now I'm using Cyanogen 4.2.14.1 - I've never seen the G1 work this well before.

Found this page on rooting the Motorola Droid: http://www.redmondpie.com/root-motor...2.0.1-9140198/

Just be careful and read up on it before you do it. Try to find other sites and see if the steps are similar. Trying to mod your phone can result in bricking it. You've been warned.

My phone is popping up a message saying that my Swype trial period is over and it's not letting me swype. Is anyone else having this problem?
