Final Fantasy XIII

So, I think (and if mods dont agree, can do w/e) since that XIII is coming out in a week, there should be a seperate discussion thread as I intended the other one to be a general informative topic of sorts for the whole trilogy. Chances are theres going to be a flood of discussion about XIII soon, and it would be inconvenient for it to be buried in a 50+ page thread.

Pre-ordered for the PS3, can't wait. I know this one is a supposed to be a little non-traditional, but tbh growing up on and playing a new FF every couple years was the highlight of my adolescence, and even though I'm almost 22 I still feel "young" exploring and leveling up, unlocking my characters' ultimate weapons, all the side quests, end game, all that shit. Can't wait for this.

More or less true, depends on how long the game takes you, I beat it first time in 25 hours and it was 20ish~ before the game "opens up"(I say that very loosely).

It is a week away from the English release so why not make a thread that is about the upcoming hyped English game.

Last FF launch, XII, maybe 30 rsvs, and I don't remember if even 10 ppl showed up...

My store alone has well over 100 people ready for this and my sister store down the road @ Purdue is approaching over 200. (usually we see a last minute rush of reserves of about 30% of current numbers)

I'm on the fence still. I think this is going to be one of those games I won't mind watching someone play, but really wont care to play myself.

I preordered this, and have next week off, but to hear a Final Fantasy game is only 25 hours is severely disappointing. The linearity is also a huge turn off as well. I know this has been discussed in lengths but that's just my feelings. I know you can add a bunch of hours with side stuff...

But I'm honestly not nearly as excited as I was for this as I was for even FFXII. Each Final Fantasy I get less and less psyched for. /shrug. I'm waiting for Yakuza 3 just as much on the same day. Good luck Yakuza, you're gonna flop miserably! (Why would Sega release this the same day?)
