Upgrading PC, need advice

So right now I have a Q6600 CPU and a GIGABYTE GA-EX38-DS4 LGA 775

I also have a 750W power supply.

I want to upgrade for FFXIV, so I was planning on replacing that with this stuff:

How does this sound? Are there cheaper alternatives? Is it even worth it to upgrade? I'd like to upgrade from my Nvidia 8800 GTS later on when I have more money, and when the price drop that I keep hearing about actually happens.

Just keep what you have now until the specs for FFXIV come out. If you have alot of money to build a high end system, then by all means nothing is stopping you. I can only suggest going with an AMD build if you want to save a little bit of money.

How much money would you like to spend on everything including a new graphics card? Also, what will you be using this new PC for?

What you have now is just fine for running XIV. Plus the prices on parts (especially memory) are really high right now so it's better to wait until they come down.
