Earth Slash....I missed you so much. ;-;Earth Render: An earth elemental based distance attack. Doesn’t work on enemies in the air.

Aegis Boon – When guarding with your shield, any damage taken heals your HP instead.
This will be completely balanced and not at all OP.
If they really want us to focus on positioning, they better make it worthwhile, ir it'll just fade away like magic bursting.
I've been THF since 2004, and around 2007 people just stopped giving a shit about combat positioning, making it damn aggravating to do my job.
Also,
Weak melee class getting TH yet again. Fuck you very much SE.
Blood Bath = Blood Weapon for Warrior...
Fuck yeah, Marauder for life, motherfuckers.
It's not a melee class. Melee classes are Disciplines of War. Disciplines of Hand are crafting classes. From the way that's worded, it may just be relevant in the same way Herb, Mining, and Skinning from WoW give battle related skills & traits that level up as you develop the skill.
Also, even if positioning is as relevant as they're saying it will be, I don't see how that will necessarily make it easier. With all the moving around and repositioning implied, it could be just as annoying, if not more so. So...Yeah.
A lot of the things said so far about FFXIV could apply to FFXI, too. There's no telling just how much elemental resistances, positioning, etc. will affect gameplay.
FFXI mobs have resistances, and positioning matters for various skills, traits, and tasks. It's hard to say how much of the developer's comments are embellishments of something that will not affect gameplay as much as it seems, and how much are core fundamentals of combat.
