Lore wise, highly improbably if impossible, I would imagine? First doctor was born the same way all Time Lords were born, I believe. that's before my time / book stuff too I think, but i'm fairly certain.

Current theory is that when she grabbed the Doctors hand before leaving she stole some of his regenerative energy, or that she altered the Master's sonic as to not get the full blast.

As far as the regen goes, I have a feeling that we are going to basically get a young ginger or someone probably in their mid to late 30's.

I don't mind what happened with Bill, although I think they could have framed it better. I didn't like the "you can be human again if you want" and would have rather seen "you can't go back to what you were, but you are now this instead." It's a small thing, but it would have added a lot more gravity to what happened.

After rewatching the episode, I have a theory on his regeneration..

Throughout the episode there was the idea that if your mind is strong enough and willing, you can alter your perception of who you are and this is why Bill saw herself as a human instead of a Cyberman. With that in mind, it may be possible that The doctor already regenerated, however his 12th incarnation is holding on tight because he doesn't want to change. I think he already changed his appearance when he was yelling, but his willingness to remain who he was altered his perception so his mind is still the 12th while his body to others will be the 13th.

Keep hearing that we might have a female doctor up next. Phoebe Waller-Bridge keeps being brought up but probably just a long shot rumor. If they do a female Doctor I'd love for it to be Olivia Colman (Prisoner Zero from series 5, DI Miller from Broadchurch)

Strange and right before SDCC too. Below is my guess as to which actor/actress would most likely get the role in order of likelyhood

1) Kris Marshal (ginger, would play on matt smiths regen when he said 'still not a ginger')
2) Ben Whishaw
3) Oliva Coleman
4) Phoebe Waller-Bridge
5) Tilda Swinton

Yeah we could have dream picks like Tim Roth but that ain't gonna happen. I'm still just hoping that vid I linked with Nardole saying he's the next doctor was a joke, and while it probably was and should be, there was an article I found from a few months back saying he "came back to the show for a very specific reason that he couldn't say what it was".

Well, clearly if the new face is someone people like it generates hype for the show. Same idea behind movie trailers, but with a lot less work put into it.
