Following up to the fan favorite release of FFVII and FFVIII, PS3 and PSP owners will have a new and exciting opportunity to immerse themselves, once again, into the world of Final Fantasy.
Considered by many gamers to be a must-play title for any RPG fan, FFIX will soon to be available for North American fans via the PlayStation Network. If you missed Final Fantasy IX during the early PlayStation era, or are dreaming of reliving the time-tested FFIX adventure, your chance is coming soon.
Sit tight and keep your eye on the PlayStation.Blog for important announcement information, including the release date, coming soon!
o_o finally, after losing my hard copy of the game, and logging over 300 amazing hours into the game over the course of 3 years... I'm happy :D
While I <3 IX, where the fuck is Suikoden II already?
if any of you guys happen to have a hacked psp, I just recently ported FFIX to psp to play. if you any of you guys want it.

According to a recent Joystiq Superpoll™, 30.3 percent of our readers think Final Fantasy IX is the series' best installment on the PS1, meaning 69.7 percent of you are so totally wrong. Those belonging to the first group will be pleased to hear the game recently received an extremely imminent release date for Japan -- according to a Tweet from Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto (as translated by Andriasang), the game will arrive on the Japanese PSN May 20.
We're really hoping the release date for other regions falls somewhere around that time -- especially after Hashimoto teased us with a video of the game's intro cinematic running on a PSP. Oh, Hashimoto! You heartbreaker!
Up now on EU psn
Tempted to make an EU account just to get it... but I won't be able to play it on my PSP. Sigh. :<
Hopefully it comes out in NA next week or so, or i'm gunna make an EU account, lol I got enough games to play as is
Screw this - give me Kartia for download.
Been listening to the OST for this and its been getting me excited to play the game again. <3
Feel My Blade - Best song. Too bad you only hear it once. ; ;
Never bought anything from the PSN before but since FF9 is my fave game and I can now play it on my PSP I immediately bought it, currently downloading it to my ps3.
Going to need to be patient though, my current memory stick is too small so just ordered a 8 gig one on amazon, hope it gets delivered soon.
Just remember the EU FFXI is the PAL version which means ugly black borders that the NTSC PSOne games never had.
Downloading the German version atm since I didn't want the hassle of making a UK account and getting a UK PSN card just to get it in English, am hoping the game isn't as atrocious in German as FF7 was.
How do I make my PSN Euro so I can stop waiting for this fucking delicious game.
I think the problem is you have to buy european PSN cards in order to get stuff, I know it's pretty much a huge pain in the ass because you can't just use a credit card or something. I've been trying to figure out an easy way to get Dark Mist but I seriously have no idea lol
FUUUUU
Definitely my favorite FF on the PSX. After losing my copy, it'll be nice to play it again after a 3~ year break.
<3 the soundtrack..
Wasn't there a lot of complaints about getting Excalibur being impossible without cheating in the EU version? If I remember correctly, because it ran at a slower speed, it made it impossible to reach a certain point in the game under a certain time to be able to earn Excalibur. People had to use Action Replay's to freeze the in-game clock.
