If they toned down the bullshit damage and nerfed some assists so they're not mashable, we may have a good game on our hands.
at one point during World War Hulk, the heroes were beaten so thoroughly by hulk and his warband that Dr Strange pulled a dangerous trump card and let a demon entity named Zom possess him, it was considered a last ditch effort by the heroes, turning strange, who just before had his hands crushed to a pulp by Hulk, into a combination of the two entities

These 6 are considered the most powerful beings who are allowed to intervene with the affairs of the universe, Quasar, Beta Ray Bill (at one point Odin or Thor split the power of Mjolnir in half, with one half staying with Thor, the other half went to Beta Ray Bill), The Gladiator, Nova, Silver Surfer, and Ronan the Accuser.
Power wise Nova, Gladiator, and Surfer are the three most powerful beings in the universe that are non-celestial / Cosmic entities. The other three are very close in power with Ronan being the "Weakest" of them. Bear in mind that on the earth, the only heroes who could even consider matching these guys in a 1v1 fight would be Thor or Hulk if he were angry enough, everyone else would be toast. Rocket Raccoon is considered an unofficial member of this group and is well respected as he is the last survivor of his group. He talks in yellow voice bubbles and is crazy like deadpool. You could in theory consider him the deadpool of space.
also, stop with the iron fist hate
dude is certifiable badass
Is Iron Fist like.. the originator of the Falcon Pawnch or something? That looks badass.
And Nova and the crew looks awesome. I don't know like..anything about either character, or Rocket Raccoon for that matter, so I apologize for my ignorance in the matter
I will never hate on Iron Fist. Rand mah nigga. :O
The Raccoon I am still iffy on. But hilarious fight scene with Deadpool is soon to come!
Isn't Phoenix like the most powerful being in the universe? And how is Silver Surfer so powerful? I thought he was just some Galactus lackey.
What exactly is a good entry point for people trying to get into Marvel lore without being confused by all the convoluted shenanigans?
Can just start from anywhere then go from there. I personally started at Iron Man comics years ago, then to X-Men and on from there. I do however recommend people read The Infinity Gauntlet Saga as a starting point because it's so fucking badass. One dude uploaded the entire saga w/ music on Youtube a while ago.

There we go. Few other vids scattered on Youtube concerning it.
Phoenix, specifically Dark Phoenix is exceptionally powerful BUT not the most in the universe, its all about control and the phoenix is uncontrollable, thats the only reason it wiped out half the universe accidentally is because no one knew it was coming, Galactus was certainly not phased by the phoenix force attack, just annoyed that half his dinner table was now rubble. Johnny Storm (the human torch) was a herald for Galactus for a short time, to give you an idea of how powerful he was as a character, always held back by the team.
Being a lackey of Galactus is like being the fluffer for your favorite porn star. Its basically the best job in the world. All of the heralds of Galactus have rated as some of the most powerful beings ever, with most taking the job temporarily while the Silver Surfer goes off to do whatever. The reason the surfer is the most powerful is because he has more free will than the others do, thus more control. Galactus respects the surfer, and their agreement keeps the big guy fed while the surfer picks uninhabitable planets for his boss to nom on.
One of my favorite start points to recomend to people is Astonishing X-Men then the Civil War, followed by the aftermath of it. Its a lot of comics to read but Astonishing was written by Joss Whedon and was one of the best comics Ive read. Civil war and the Skrull war was fantastic and the followup to that, with Norman Osborn in charge was some of the best comics you could read imo. World War Hulk was a great series, and The Thanos Imperative is where those six came from. Old Man Logan made me like wolverine again, and I love everything Deadpool.
Marvel started doing a lot of 6-12 issue minis and some 1-3 shots on comics over the past few years, to re-flesh out back stories and turn less popular characters into stronger players in the game. It made a massive difference in the quality as it let them pick who was more popular and well liked and focus on them. Of course this brought us 4-5 spiderman monthlys, and wolverine on every other comics cover, sometimes without even being in the issue. It let them tell smaller stories and concentrate on making them good. While it did bring us great stories and minis like Ultimates and Ultimates 2, it also brought us Ultimates 3, Ultimatum, and an unending stream of Marvel Zombies comics, which started to get a bit disgusting after a while. Ultimate Spiderman and Ultimate X-Men remains one of the best re-launches that has ever come out, something like 160 issues of awesome, and I highly recommend that.
dont go back too far though, Isladar made that mistake, more than 5-6 years and your brain will be angry at the shitty art, rob liefield influence, and the writing of a 5 year old on cocaine.
Could careless if X was in the game but no sigma for my zero lets be honest how many of you actually picked X over zero from X4 and up?
So whats the news on DHC, they leaving that as is or changing it.
