Whilst on the subject of spellcast I have no idea how to sort out the file to account for chainspell.

I swap in fast gear for all 4~ second casts, which includes nukes and stoneskin. Is there a single rule I can use to change all the midcasts to precasts whilst chainspell is active?

Two windower related questions I have. Anyone have the solutions to:

1) windower crashing when maximizing chat log
2) windower crashing when going to POL from in-game or /shutdown.

I dual box, can that be a cause?

You wouldn't want to dual wield them. For pure damage purposes I imagine guttler/temperance or OAT magian axe would be the best. Relics/mythics don't get the bonuses offhand.

Not exhaustively tested as it's from my bot, but seems to work.

Does Perfect Defense stack (I assume no.) or, more importantly overwrite it's self if someone else does it? Or does it give the "Is unaffected etc." message?

1. Is caused by having second FFXI instance write to log files while first is using them. Installing a second copy of FFXI for another region and having your second windower point to that one will solve this problem, but it's a pain. If you use european and NA regions, you can have both in english though.

2. Is a windower problem afaik, don't know of a fix.

It's better for gaining TP (not necessarily overall damage) than Forager's certainly. Whether it is better overall depends on your level of buffs and your TP/WS ratio. On Darksday Aesir Mantle will beat Forager's for all but the really melee DoT-orientated jobs and otherwise... probably only GKT SAM will benefit more from it unless supremely overbuffed.

I wouldn't go out of my way to get one and would think carefully about losing an inventory slot for such a situational mantle (I might use it for Last Resort macro for DRKTP; that's about it personally - you could think about using it for WAR Berserk up etc too).

I'm a mage and I want to make more of my COR. Please excuse me whilst I ask idiotic questions...

To date I have preferred /RNG (hate /NIN) and want to try /WAR. Do I need to be 8/8 Marksmanship for this (working on it but not there right now)? Am I right in assuming that I want to be using Detonator over Slug at that point?

I have access to a ton of gear but nothing 'exceptional' and I don't have a PCC because all my gil is going into Salvage gear right now. I just don't have a feel for the amount of RAcc I need and I think I've been going completely overboard.

I'm pretty comfortable with my QD build and have an ok melee tp build just looking for some advice on how to put together a decent COR/WAR build.

Is there a decent place to get more up-to-date information about gear available for jobs? I have recently started playing again, but I pretty much only give a shit about BST. The guides are all way out of date, and there have been some very good random items added in the last year or so that are hard to find all in one place. Most job specific forums (FFXIAH, Alla) are dead, so discussion will be hard.

What I'd like to do is put together ideal lists for each situation (charm gear, tp gear, ws gear, etc).

So what's better?

Trying to find this somewhere else, or starting a thread on BG (or somewhere else) asking for input about situational choices?

I know you mentioned ffxiah forums, but If i were you id probably just spend some time searching out gear sets on it instead. search charm or chr and browse what people have, then pick and choose what is best for you out of those differing gear sets.

For tp and ws can look up "war TP" or "bst TP" or "war haste set" and "rampage" etc. (I say war cause i think you would be hard pressed to find an active bst with a nice TP set haha)

Make sure to check dates and if the player is still active.

That would be the best way to go about it imo.

That would solve a short-term problem, but wouldn't help anyone else looking for the same information. I should have mentioned that in my first post- it would be great if the end result was something other people could see, too. I'm just not sure if such a thing already exists somewhere.
