i have never seen two final fantasies come out in the same year for the same console, so no i didnt think 2010 was going to happen, regardless of what they tell reporters. just seems like these alpha tests are slowing them down to a crawl, so neverember here we come :D

they never said a specific release date, they've just been spoon feeding us with this 2010 bullshit, which is why i said NEVERember 2010 lol. which, is a month that does not really exist for any curious kittens out there.

Don't you read the interviews? They said they were expecting about 50% of invited alpha testers to simultaneously log on. They got a much higher percentage than 50, therefore, the server load is much higher than they anticipated. Hence the stability issues.

thank you Captain Last Week, but that's not what i meant lol. I am curious as to what is slowing them down fixing the problem. Test 4 was apparently a lot smoother than test 3 where they were still trying to run 3 tests a week, yet they did'nt have a test this past sunday.

The Financial Year starts in April.

i was thinking the same thing. if that's the case i don't blame them, but was'nt golden week last week? and they still had a test last thursday during golden week so i doubt it.

hmm maybe they found a whole ton of things messed up since test 4.

Or maybe there isnt much left to test for alpha testers... and they are working on fixing the last few things up... doing maybe one-two more tests to make sure everything is functional before starting up w/beta1.

Alpha testers, and even beta testers, arent given freedom to play the game on their own terms. And there is no reason to continue to have ppl testing stuff when they alrdy know what needs to be fixed and found the root problem

The last interview they spoke of, indicated that the current Alpha was going well and they were considering an "Alpha 2" instead of a "beta 1" coming soon. Remember these Alpha tests were very specifically targetting server stability (something they seem to have fixed to a large degree with the last test) as well as Combat, Movement and to a smaller degree Guildleve/questing. They have gotten a LOT of feed back on the latter. Golden Week probably has a bit to do with it, but they aren't going to push a test out there if they havent done anything to the client or server software this week.

It is, the financial year ends March 31st for Square-Enix and begins a new one on April 1st.
