Something similar happened to me once. I noticed I was getting random bruises, and I couldn't explain where they were coming from. Turns out I had leukemia.

A symptom of Leukemia is bruising easily, so pay attention to any other bruises that develop over the next while. Although I highly doubt its leukemia or any form of cancer, you likely hit yourself in your sleep, or some veins/arteries burst. They sometime do that, although most of the time its very small and often triggered by something.
