So, I turned on my desktop to play some battlefield after having the desktop sit in sleep mode for the last 3-4 days with no activity.
Turn it on, to a blue screen right after logging in. Usual generic driver issues it seems starting from my video card.
Stop 0x8E
and item that caused it would be Nvlddmkm.sys, which seems to be linked to my 8600GT.
I've been reading online on different ways to fix this issue. I've been able to enter safe mode, uninstall the driver and re-install the up-to date drivers. Which has resulted in a bluescreen but this time it was Stop 0x16, and it seems to be the same generic driver issue.
If I un-install the driver, I can load windows just fine......... just with a 800x600 resolution. I've tried some older drivers too, with same blue screen.
I have also tried a registry tweak ive read about that has fixed the issue for some....... but not for me.
I'm at a loss here.... I cannot afford to go out and buy a new card (even though I badly need to update it) So if anyone has anymore advice on things to try, please let me know. I want to play some god damn BFBC2!!
