Gave it an 8, just completed my second time around still enjoyed it.

Why only an 8 then? simple.

Stupid AI for SYN/SAB why not use the gambit system?

The first paradigm shift .. ffffffff

    A little easy to beat.

Finally No god damn wedding!!! Ending could have been so much better but meh

Numbers mean nothing but overall I liked it.

I like how difficulty was simulated for you, I had friend who's style was to grind early, I loved how the game didn't allow him to do that often or much, since before it technically makes the easy/boring. So with this restricted, when we played he was forced to move on, thank god.

Ending was a bit cut short/rushed?

No towns/NPCs is justified for me, afterall they are supposed to be extremely feared/dangerous for being a La'cie (lol i can't spell it)

    Sunleath Waterscape <3

More lightning focus would be nice, I loved this character concept, reminds me of me!

The weapon system I never put time into/understood. Most of my chars by the completion of the game had the 2nd or so weapon equipped, nothing else was touched.

I loved the world. It's all scenary porn!

    I gave it a 10.

My biggest complaint is the lack of DLC.

When my biggest complaint about a game with 100 hours of content is that I want more, I'm not sure how I could give it less than a 10.

Gave it an 8, its a good game, although linear then most FFs, majority of them are basically the same thing as this game is, it high lights where you need to go taking away the challenge sometimes if you did not read everything you were suppose to do, lacked openness until near the end of the game where you could screw around a little more and have some more fun.

Not that many mini-games to divert you from the main story, but the few that it had, were quiet fun, I hope that they learn from what FF13 was, and if at all possible open up the free roaming game play that final fantasy has been known for, in FF13vs. Won't be getting my hopes up but I definitely will be purchasing it because I think it'll have a good story, plus I want to see how they tie in together, I've already got an idea as to how they do, but not certain really.

gave it an 8. Good game, good story, way too linear for it to get above an 8 and had the story not been as good it would have gotten a 5 or 6. Replay value is kinda so-so on it. I dont see myself playing through it again like I do for most FF's.

    Gave it a 9.

    - Story-wise, bar none arguably the best cast of characters and the interaction between them in the series. Every single character had a purpose and felt just as important as the next. Although I do agree that anyone in the game who wasn't part of the main cast were underdeveloped. Who gives a rat's ass about Cid and his crew or Rosch. Not to mention Jihl was at the most, a blip on the radar, story-wise. Also, like Celeras said, if it had ended with them;
    Spoiler: show
all turning into C'eith while Fang went on her rampage as Ragnarok
I would have loved it that much more, just for the OH SHIT! factor. I'm a sucker for apocalyptic NGE style endings I guess.

    - Battle-system was my favorite of the series. Some small tweaks a few here have already addressed and it would have been perfect. Allowing you to roam with the character you're controlling and better control over the AI would have been an absolute welcome. MED not topping me off or everybody getting nuked to kingdom come because we're all next to each other for some stupid reason pissed me off too many times. Also, LEADER DYING=GAME OVER IS RETARDED. Shit's stupid and unnecessary.

    - Graphics, it's an FF game, nuff said. Just wanted to add this, the opening cutscene for Chapter 12 is probably the greatest cutscene for RPG's this decade.

Overall, this is probably the first FF game I'd gladly re-buy an international version if it added content and addressed some of these issues. Super Mega Ultra Secret Boss wru!!!

Not going to put a number on it, but I loved the game, spent over 170 hours on it, played through it twice, and was my first platinum. My only complaint was not being able to control but one person at a time, it would piss me off to no end when lighting would get caught under a turtles foot and not fucking move.

Gave it a 6. It was the first FF game apart of the main series that really disappointed me, but it was still a decent RPG.

    8/10

I loved everything about this game... except the ending.

Endings are a BIG THING for me when it comes to Final Fantasies. If the ending sucks, its definitely gonna affect my opinion about the game. The ending didn't suck, however was definitely missing a ton.

The Eden cut-scene was better than the ending. That is not how it should have been.

Good to see novelty wearing off finally, I should've made battle system poll around this time so that it could glorify FFXII.

I still prefer it leaps and bounds over FFXII <_< would've given that one a 6~7...

    3/10.

Just got to chapter 11 since the game was fucking terrible. Run along a one way path, cut-scene, rinse, lather, repeat for 11 chapters or 15 hours of game play give or take. Came down to pick it up for a day or two, and then put it down for a week. Even now, still extremely bored with it and disappointed.

Story wise...lol, never had any idea at all about whats going on, but I sort of blame that on FFXI with spamming through cutscenes because of being in a rush and story not mattering at all on a larger scheme. Wanted to go back and read the compandium(?) thing to see what the story is even about but, refer to last few sentences of first paragraph. Still have no idea what a la'cie, fal'cie, cie'th, cieshit is either.

Battle system, fast but boring. Spam X over and over, don't even need to pay attention. Bosses were a little more difficult, but nothing wtfhard.

Graphics were amazing though. I'm giving it 3/10 based on graphics alone.

All and all, really disappointed, especially since I bought a PS3 just to play this game.

I don't get how people can't understand the storyline <_<

L'cie are servants of the Fal'cie, bound unto servitude via a magical bond which gives them a Focus - a task for them to fulfill. Failure of this task leads to them becoming a Ci'eth, a monstrous shadow of humanity. Success leads to "eternal life" as a crystal. The origins of the Fal'cie are explored more later on, but compared to humans they are like demigods (even though they are apparently brothers both created by the same Maker). I don't know what's so difficult about that :/ the game goes on about it enough ...

Battle system, fast but boring. Spam X over and over, don't even need to pay attention. Bosses were a little more difficult, but nothing wtfhard.
Chapter 11+ is where the battle system starts to get fully explored. Before then you're basically playing with bits at a time, with 9/10 starting to push you a little bit.

I wish I never played MMO's, totally killed other RPG's for me. :/

10 was great, but played X-2(still never finished it), 12, and now 13, and no idea what even went on. I remember the names of the main characters in 13 since I've been playing it recently, but 12? No idea who was in it at all lol

Early on they all became l'cie, why did that happen?

I don't understand why playing a MMO ruined your ability to understand a story...

When they attacked Anima, Anima branded them and gave them the Focus which you believe to be becoming Ragnarok and destroying Cocoon. This occurs at the end of Ch2/Start of Ch3.

I still don't understand how people are confused over the story in FFXIII. Besides the NES games, this is probably the simplest story in the series.

I'm going to extend a branch to the retards to try and make sense of it by saying that maybe it's the terminology used. La'cie, Fal'cie, Cieth, etc are all quite different sounding from what people are use to in their Final Fantasy and perhaps it is throwing them off, and that's a huge stretch, otherwise I have no fucking clue.

    P.S. The lore is fantastic.
