‘Thor 2′ Confirmed For Summer 2013
Walt Disney Pictures have finally confirmed what we’ve suspected for a while, Thor 2 will be released in Summer 2013. Thor grossed $437 million worldwide, and Marvel Studios has a public mandate to release two movies a year. In 2011 it was Thor and the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger. In 2012 it will be the superhero team-up The Avengers with no second release yet announced (is anything planned? If so we’d need to see an announcement very soon, or like, yesterday). In 2013 we’ll get Iron Man 3 on May 3rd and Thor 2 later that Summer, on July 26th.
Chris Hemsworth is contracted to return, as is love interest Natalie Portman (although its entirely possible she won’t). Director Kenneth Branagh will not return, and Marvel will need to find a new director to helm the sequel.

http://geektyrant.com/news/2011/7/11...-revealed.htmlMarvel Studios and Paramount Pictures have annnounced details about the release of Thor on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD today. The dicss will be available on September 13, 2011.
According to <redacted>, "the Thor three-disc Ultimate Set includes the film on Blu-ray in high-definition 3D and high-definition 2D, as well as on standard-definition DVD with a digital copy. The two-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack includes a high-definition presentation of the film, plus a standard-definition presentation with a digital copy. Both sets come fully loaded with over 80 minutes of immersive bonus materials including an exclusive special feature that goes deeper into the Marvel Universe, a sneak peek into Marvel's The Avengers, an unprecedented look inside the world of director Kenneth Branagh and much more."
This movie is absolutely worth a buy.
I really wish they'd stop calling movies "3-disc set" and "2 disc set" when all the discs are just copies of the same movie.
While literally correct, nobody really cares about more than 1 copy of a movie and when dvds used to have multiple discs it was because the other discs were full of extras.
And why the hell do the digital copies of movies need to be on a disc? it's a goddamn digital copy. You can just download it off the internet and save on the materials.
rant off
didnt want to start a new thread for this

Spoiler: show
Marvel Studios may be sending Patty Jenkins, who directed Charlize Theron to an Oscar win with 2003′s harrowing Monster, to the celestial realm of AsgardSourceMarvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently told EW that plans were developing fast for the sequel, which he said would “take Thor literally to other worlds.” While moviegoers will next see Chris Hemsworth as the hammer-swinging hero in The Avengers next May, Thor 2 would “primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster and how the new dynamic with his father is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds,” Feige said.
I'm hoping for some Niffleheim goodness!
I remember reading that the villains for the sequel would be the Enchantress and the Executioner but if they're going to explore the nine realms, they better showcase Hela and the realm of Hel.
Cannot wait for this !
