Castlevania: Harmony of Despair (XBLA/PSN)

Looks like a Xbox360 Castlevania game done in the style of the DS ones. Online multiplayer? Characters from several games? Very odd to say the least. I can only imagine it being very ugly on a HD TV. There is always the chance this might be an elaborate hoax.

Forget which one it was that had the "co-op" single player where the final fight was Drac/Death tag-teaming on you, but I'd say it could lend itself to a multiplayer environment if done properly. And to be honest, I'd like the graphics to be a bit more polished than the DS versions if such a thing does hit a console. Not hatin' on sprites, but just want them to be from 2010 and not 2000 or earlier.

Castlevania games never update those sprites. They'll still be using the same old ones in 10 years time. Much like Morrigan's sprite in any 2d fighting game.

Yes, the entire game is you going through 12 rooms to reach a tiny boss marked "Target".

The portable castlevania games have long abandoned the 'one big castle' environment and have moved on to a hub-based level design, where you move back and forth between mid-sized environments depending on your current mission or item collection requirements.
