seriously.
seriously.
But weren't you filled with hope at the end?? Didn't that satisfy you??
Also, it'd be amazing if they have a brief intermission and told people to leave.
January 13th, 2017.
ARGH, but NOT ARGH at the same time.
Link.
Imo, this entire series is to wonky that just a single movie focused on book 1 would be really cool. Even making sequals will just start to get squirrely.
I remember The Gunslinger being super slow and boring though. You definitely can't make the entire series into one movie, but a movie based on just The Gunslinger probably wouldn't do very well in theaters.
Last I heard, it's supposed to be three movies with a Wizard and Glass mini-series.
they would need pretty much an entire second cast for wizard and glass so that makes sense. would also be weird to interrupt a movie series with an entire movie that is a flash back. This is a tough story to translate to film any way you slice it.
Whole thing should be an HBO mini series, like 10 or so episodes.
haven't read the books in a long time but i'd just be happy with a movie explaining the premise of the entire universe and different timelines.. the gunslinger.. and then the scenes the lead to doors and alternate universes, like eddies and odettas... and then consecutive movies to flesh out the rest of the books. i think if they could explain the initial concept in the first movie, they could do a sequel, or a trilogy that would cover the whole series
Like every other time, I'll believe it when I see it. This series has had so many projected release dates and production already. I don't know if average non book reading people (peasants) will be that interested in it tbh.
figured you all might appreciate this, was looking for a good name for my bird in ark
http://io9.com/matthew-mcconaughey-h...eph-1742887547So what role will McConaughey take? Variety says he was offered both the lead role of Roland, the heroic Gunslinger, and Randall, the villainous Man in Black and is leaning towards the latter. However, he just got the script and may still pass on the project.
Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Roland Deschain.

Some interesting information about the movie inside this article. As of now I have a lot of reservations about it though, most of which involve the release date of January 2017, and the fact that it starts in the middle of the story, with a setting of modern day. I guess we will see how it turns out sooner than later.
The modern day makes it sound like its probably going to start in book 2 and cut out most of the Gunslinger.
