WTB Video Card (Part 2, The Horribleness)

(Before I start, yes the PC is overpriced. I tried returning it after people told me int he last thread but they wouldn't accept it.)

I come to you once again after updating my power supply! I'm looking for a high end card to fit my case's physical limitations as well as run with whatever horrible things inside this HP. I have upgraded my Power supply from 300W to 550W (dual V12 rail?).

Size and the ability to run cool/in a poor airflow environment are key. I do not think it capable of handling a dual slot or anything much bigger than the PCIEx16 slot itself. There's a lot of shit on the board that needs to be accounted for. I've browsed Newegg for a couple hours with my thumb up my ass. A kid lost in the Mall of America.

    Family's PC/Specs: HP Pavilion h6320y
This appears to be it's Motherboard: Here

    Pictures inside the case itself:

HD/MB/RAM/CPU Info from a program called Speccy:

I have a 1600x900 HD monitor and my budget is $180~$200. I can't go much higher than this.

If anyone could help me out here it'd be greatly appreciated. All input is welcome.

The best for your budget, would seem to fit in the case(8.5), and backwards compatible with the PCIe x16 the motherboard you linked has (all cards will fit, but some of the higher ends will be bottlenecked a whopping 2-5% by the old slot).

Hmm. Then that will be my first choice (It's on sale for $160~ no shipping from Amazon). I'll let the topic soak a bit and see if something else turns up.

    Thank you.

I have this card, and driver issues aside ( there are a few threads in tech here re: radeon cards) I <3 it.

Hrhr, I won't. I knew it wasn't a good idea but rest assured the tape never made contact with the MB. It only took 20 shots while jugging the camera/tape/flashlight to get an unblurry photo.

Quick question. There seems to be two models of the card.

    The suggested/linked earlier in thread:
    XFX HD-577A-ZHFC

And this other I find. Cheaper and the only difference seems to be the memory type?
    XFX HD-577X-ZNFC

Should I stick with the one originally suggested? The more expensive one?

Just get the cheaper one imo.

    Differences I noticed between them:
    1) I only see 1 Crossfire Connector (No quad/trifire)
    2) It doesn't appear to use ATIs board design (can affect power usage and performance sometimes)

DDR5 and GDDR5 are the same thing. These are the exact same card with different coolers (and the 577A comes with a Crossfire bridge in the box). No idea which is newer/cooler/quieter, doubt it matters too much. Either get the cheaper one or whatever you think looks better.
