    Hey Dr. BG

Anyone wanna take a shot at what could be causing this? My grandad's doc is stumped. http://yfrog.com/j1uq3j

No changes in diet or soap/other product use, he wasn't exposed to any new animals or plants. It's extremely itchy and has blisters. It's all over his body. Dry and flaky.

Hmm i read your thread and what sticks out is that yours comes and goes and his stays the same all the time, and that you had more like whelps and he has what looks like bug bites-- they're pointy red bumps and he has fluid filled blisters. Did you have those? He's had this the beginning of feb and it's never gotten better, only worse.

Allergic contact dermatitis, treat it with cortisone cream, or prescription prednisone.

Has he been hiking, or own a cat/dog?
    Walk near construction?
Neighbors burn oleander or poison oak?

Can you not read? His doctor has no clue. Neither do the TWO dermatologists he's gone to see. No one can figure out what it was or how to make it go away.

They have cats, but they've had em for over 10 years now. He doesn't work outdoors or hike, and he can't recall having been near any construction sites. Burning brush isn't allowed in their neighborhood, but outside of that he's not sure.

And this would stay for months and not start going away by itself even a little? He's had it since early Feb and it's only gotten worse. It's also popping up on more areas of his body. They gave him a steroid creme but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Oatmeal baths stop him from itching for an hour or so he says, but that's it. Sarna lotion made his skin flake off and made it worse.

Steel wool followed by application of pure vinegar.

OK, which is why your next port of call is to go to an Internet forum about MMORPGs instead of an internet forum filled with medical advice.

    Gotcha.

It's possible for it to be an allergic reaction, since it's perfectly possible to suddenly become allergic to something you were never allergic to before. It happens all the time (same with allergies going away or growing out of them). Try changing or eliminating possible irritants one by one. If it's not an allergic reaction then idk. (alternatively, have an allergist do tests)

This. 'Been doing the same stuff for years' is not good enough. Allergies can occur regardless of whether or not they've been using it/living with it for years.
