Mass Effect (202X)

The only (well, one of the only) issue that's going to piss me off about this is that Mass Effect is just RIPE for the ol' Hollywood "screw up a perfectly good movie by focusing on a cheesy love affair between two of the cast instead of the greater threat the cast faces".

I mean its practically written into the script already.

There are plenty of stories to tell in the ME universe without it being ME1. The first-contact war would be nice, for example.

same, the game is a cinematic masterpiece in itself so there isn't really a need to tell the same story without the gameplay and choices.

If the script is written by Drew Karpyshyn we'll be golden, anybody else i'll start to have doubts.

I just hope they include the overall prothean + reaper story in the same ME universe we all know and love. those are my standards.

Also Sam Worthington or Samual Jackson for Shepard, maybe Will Smith if they can afford him.

Keith David as Counselor Anderson. Even though they don't look alike he's a good actor and well, it's his voice.

Adam Baldwin as Kal'Reegar, Trisha Helfer as EDI, Micheal Dorn as Gatatog Uvenk, Brandon Keener as Garrus....hell half the movie cast could be played by whoever they want but voiced by the voice actors since you don't see their faces.

IMDB page for Fox still has Mass Effect listed, was doing some browsing since Lapidus and Anna Lucia are getting some more screen love with Mechete.

I also got way too excited when i saw it and edited this post like 9 times because of that april fools joke.

It could if the studios actually pick a worthy director. They often see the movie as a by-product of the game and think that they can ride the hype generated from the game to make a quick buck from the movie adaptation. It's easy to fail since they never strive for success to begin with.
