My host got in some trouble and had to comply quickly or be faced with a huge fine. Unfortunately, the servers were all shut down and JP Button was taken offline. This all happened in about the span of less than two days. I woke up early this morning to transfer the data, but it was already gone. The only way to get the site running again was to pay the data center $184 to recover a backup.

I never received royalties from BG for the use of my likeness but Sonomaa suggested BG host a small donation drive to fix things up.

Within 8 hrs, there was already more than enough to pay the data center fees. I want to thank everyone so much for donating to help us out.

Everyone who has ever clicked over to JP Button and enjoyed its content also deserves a great thanks. Without all the readers, there wouldn't be a site to speak of, and it's been an honor working with the FFXI community these past years.

Corinth is out enjoying her birthday weekend, and sends her thanks. Once she returns, I'm sure she will have some words to add of her own.

It moves us both that people found some value in helping us to save everything we put together on JP Button and get it moved safe and sound over to BG's servers.

It was a Lost reference because I like being topical.

But what literally happened was that my host was in some legal battle apparently. Once he lost, he came to me and said he was shutting down. The only way to move my site was to get a backup from the data center he uses, which charges a $184 fee.

Right after I announced the progress, someone capped us off. I really should have added in a Disney vacation for Corinth (her birthday's this Sunday!) but we'll stop things right there. :D

Wow, good memory. That was a real long time ago.
I had to move around a bit and never really got into a position where I could go through with that plan.
