For that guy who didn't like bitterness, I'd strongly advise this :
    http://shop.belgianshop.com/acatalog/Barbar_beer.jpg

Barbãr tastes quite sweet thanks to the incorporation of honey (and spices) in the recipe, reminiscent of mead (hence the Viking theme.)

Typically served in its custom mug (shown on pic), this is a nice relaxation beer to be had among friends.

ABV of 8% but you'd guess lower as the alcohol is well-hidden.

Though I don't know how availlable it'll be in the US, even here in my Belgian town only 1 out of 30+ cafés serves it.

No, I'm kidding, it's fucking piss beer. Do not drink it.
    Ever.
Seconded, Kronenbourg is an insult to beer.
Literally smells like piss, watery mouthfeel, vile taste and the head on that picture has to be faked : tap Kronenbourg usually struggles to have any head (innuendo not intended but kept for teh lulz.)

This is usually what they serve you if you ask for "a beer" in France, so be wary of that if going there.

Most Total Wine's will order anything that you ask for. My roommate use to be a big beer buff, but recently found out he has a gluten allergy, and has been all up on mead. They're pretty interesting, but most that he's gotten have been too sweet for me to have more than a glass at a time

Just found out a liquor store close to me carries Stone, Rogue, Dogfish 60/90/120, among other IPA's. He's got a fucking binder full of special beers that vary depending on the season. A. Mazing.

Just picked up some of this. If you live in the Seattle area I'm sure you've heard of the Men's Room radio show on 99.9. They have their own beer and apparently it's amazing. I need to wait for it to get cold as they only had some warm. Really excited for it.

    What's the place?
Surprisingly, if you check out some ShopRite Liquor stores they have a pretty good selection too. But that's hit or miss.

The beer is placed inside a pocket of salty, pretzel-like dough and then dunked in oil at 375 degrees for about 20 seconds, a short enough time for the confection to remain alcoholic.

When diners take a bite the hot beer mixes with the dough in what is claimed to be a delicious taste sensation.

A recession for the many, not the fewInventor Mark Zable said it had taken him three years to come up with the cooking method and a patent for the process is pending. He declined to say whether any special ingredients were involved.

His deep-fried beer will be officially unveiled in a fried food competition at the Texas state fair later this month.

Five ravioli-like pieces will sell for $5 (£3) and the Texas Alcoholic Commission has already ruled that people must be aged over 21 to try it.

Mr Zable has so far been deep frying Guinness but said he may switch to a pale ale in future.

He said: "Nobody has been able to fry a liquid before. It tastes like you took a bite of hot pretzel dough and then took a drink of beer." Mr Zable previously invented dishes including chocolate-covered strawberry waffle balls and jalapeño corndog shrimps.

Last year's winner of the Texas state fair fried food competition was a recipe for deep-fried butter.

Highly recommended. Only comes in 4 packs but at $7 a 4 pack it's probably the best, cheapest, beer I've been drinking lately

^ I had that recently too, it's got kind of a spice bite to it. I thought it was pretty good.

DFH Punkin' is good but I think the best Pumpkin seasonal is Southern Tier Pumking. Surprisingly enjoyed the Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin too(only available in bombers and has an orange foil cap) since I fucking HATE their normal pumpkin beer.

I went on a quest for this beer. Finally found it at a craft beer store by my job. Had it over a nice steak lunch. ABSOLUTELY loved it. And agreed, the aroma on it was incredible. Rich vanilla notes, and was surprised to see how well they stood out when drinking it.

Young's Double Chocolate is my stout of choice...this may replace it!

If you can get these two, I highly recommend them giving them a shot:

Cinq Cents is my favorite Chimay.

  19. #239

that's the white one isn't it? It's good, but grand reserve has the best flavor to me. Red is alright. I was psyched the local grocery store just started carrying these in the large bottles.

    was a dream come true

Damn, I'm gunna have to get my hands on that Saison du BUFF. Those are 3 of my favorite brewers in the world lol. Sounds like an intriguing beer, a hoppy Saison.

I know its not just me, but I really am not a fan of Chimay or a lot of the other Trappist beers I've tried (can lump St Bernardus in there too just for good measure). Some people absolutely love them, but I just don't get it. Some are okay, but nothing that has come close to blowing me away or leaving me impressed.

Skyylya...you're in Brandon, you gotta get your hands on some Cigar City beers.
